Moj Magazine Although Van Gogh painted his masterpieces in the last five years of his short life,from 1885 to 1990,this would not be considered one of them ,and looks more Impressionistic at the most.My reason for this argument is absence of his beloved workers and peasants ,direct and indirectly seen in his final works,to make him look like an expressionist,after all.On the other hand,There is no art work,no poetry or prose,no music and so on that human being is missing in it. So here arrives my second opinion on this...What makes this as a masterpiece is the ghost of factories,laying in serenity under the moonlight ,looking exhausted after a hard laborious day or getting prepared for another.There is always ambiguity as architecture of great art work.And great art works are done by great artists, of them Van Gogh is considered as one.- FS
