COLLECTIVE POETRY OF FARA/TRISTAN

Fara: Our live oaks want to say something to your rocky beach
Tristan: Our waves will swim across to the oaky forests
Fara:And Spanish Moss are waving on the way
Tristan:...
"In 1970 ...four poets( a Frenchman, an Italian, an Englishman, and a Mexican ) decided to compose a collective poem in four languages( which they called by the Japanese name: Renga).
Not only a combinatiionof different texts but of producersof texts(poets). The poet is not the "author" in the traditional sense of the word; he is a moment of convergence of the different voices which flow into the text.Criticism of the object and of the subject intersect in our time: the art object dissolvesin the instantaneous act. The subject is a somewhat fortuitous crystallization of language."p160
"A poem is a text but at the same time it is a structure. The text rests on the structure-it supports. The text is visible, legible; the skeleton is invisible."p162
