I AM NEW ORLEANS POET

We are not a rest area on highway
We are history
We are France,Spain and America
Nativecajuncreolafrican
On the river or lake
We are live oaks and magnolias
Saint Pelicans
Now sing along with me:
The moon lives leisurely
On the bridge
And underneath there is
A young lady with a young man
Holding up a sign in street:
Hungry and homeless
and their dogs
waiting for the best dog food in town
I am New Orleans Poet ...
Zohreh Khaleghi
