Like Einstein's  relativitism or Darwin's speciesm;like surrealism of Andre Breton and Impressionism of Cezanne and the likes,Picasso's cubism was not considered only as art,but a school of thought,and a philosophy of art in vision  to be translated in a new vision.

In his tempo and tenor,Picasso knew when to grab a progressive art,with his tentacles or in fact,invent it for populating around ,in the world of arts.A pearl out of oyster's mouth,returning from return,he was a tercel with his women,muse one might call them.He drew them to eternity with himself and his art.

He sure was a child at play,like any lovers ,and or loved ones,and he knew well that any painting has to be painted,in emotion and angst,taking them to SEXTUATIVITY*

SEXTUATIVITY,in my neology is SEXTUALITY and CREATIVITY

as a desire at work,for explosion,to a prolific life of the artists,including poets and writers.

That is how you become a Picasso,as well.

Picasso in Blue period is Picasso of Cezanne,at the most.Or Picasso of VangoLautrec,with his Celestine.If blue is a dominant color in this period,Celestine,also with poor and lovelorn,attracts painter's pathos..Pink Picasso also is retro with flat paints,including Autoportrait,and clowns and border dwelers.A reality,still expressed in reality.He loves to work with Braque,and with experiences ,and invents love within spaces and volumes in 1910's.But in the back of his spanish mind and under his skin, spaces are hidden and growing,sometimes out of control,to replace reality with a new reality.

If you doubt it ,ask A man with guitar,to bring about all those spaces and volumes,of Spanish Heritage,or ask Gertrude Stein to tell you.

Stein's humble essay,extended to a book ,with Picasso's works on him,could be presented in a few lines,

as a briefing for cubism:

There are three foundations of Cubism

1.Things seen with the eyes are the only real things ,but with lost significance.

2.People do not change from one generation to another,but the composition surrounding them changes.

3.In framing of life,read limiting them in a prison of recurrent logic and meaningless meanings,pictures commenced to want to leave their frames,break the tall wall and escape to freedom,rather than returning there in simulated victoriy.

This is how Picasso became Picasso,and we still are retro.In his view cubes are Spanish in architecture and so are monochromic,espscially with desert colors.

He started from blue period,1901-1904

Then Rose period=Harlequin,in France,1904-1905-1906

Negro period,African Art 1907

and in stage 2:1918-1921 or even to 1927

Cubism 1908,the result of landscape,people:face,figures and forms,

Cubism is the result of a vision,Painter's vision,going to pure cubism and sculpture of African Art,concievably as a modern art,but not primitive,comparable to Native American Art,as well.

From 1915 thru 1924 Picasso returns to oldies and life in classicals.That's a shame!Return is always a consevative move ,that even  Picasso could not get away with.He had his excuses too.Like not being related to a single movement to support him and look after him ,but in any rate he was a returnee to classical,although ambiguous and only for a short time.lovers always return from return,and Picasso,the rebelious went the same way and came back to cradle of revolutionary cubism.As:

Picasso's women are talked about in my other notes,and they are considered degenerated painting by Nazi. Portrait of Dora Maar challenges in tragic mood,suited for Spanish civil War,continued through World war II on still so called degenerated painting.

Picasso died April 8,1973 at age 92,but with all this note and other posts,are we done talking about him,his art and philosophy,philosophy of art and life?
