Kandinsky and Mondrian are considered as the first abstract artists,although art is always called abstract.
Wassily Kandinsky was born in Moscow,and his father was from Southern Siberia,near the border of China.
With that oriental vision and background,Kamdinsky moved to Munich,to follow painting and art,and then settled in Sevres,near Paris in 1906.Later the artist spent times in Berlin,Dresden,Munich again,and in 1910 started his non-representational work and the published Blaue Reiter/Blue Rider,to be known as a movement of abstract art.The exhibitions of Blaue Writer in 1911 1nd 1912 are hallmarks of German modern painting
Here Kandinsky's abstraction is close to Music,as he once mentioned:
MUSIC IS A GREAT TEACHER.
Having gone through metamorphosis and movements,his resume was formulated in an equation by Michel Henry ,in his book,Voir Invisible sur Kandinsky,as:
INTERIOR=INTERIORIETY=IN VISIBLE=LIFE=PATHOS=ABSTRACT
As an art theotititian,Kandinsky,who was a citizen of France since 1939, also published books on theory of art and his journey through it.
