SIMIN DANESHVAR,a celebrated contemporary Iranian writer
 b. Shiraz 28 april ,1921/8 ordibehesht 1300, a year before EBRAHIM GOLESTAN,another great short story and fiction writer who was born in the same city of Shiraz,the birth place of HAFEZ ,SA'ADI and in our time ,of TAVALLALI,BONYAD,BARMAKI, BONYAD
ABDOLALI AND MINA DASTGHEIB,KHAEFI,OJI,SHAHRIAR MANDANI POUR,REZA PARHIZKAR,DR.REZA MOHARRERI,M.D.,HASHEM JAVID among others.

Simin Daneshvar recieved a Ph.D in Persian literature from University of Tehran and taught there ,as well as in Stanford University.Her collection of short stories is the first by an Iranian woman writer.Savashun also was the first novel ever written and published by a woman writer in Iran.
Savashun is a folk tradition,in southern part of Iran and Fars province that conjures hope.The novel is story of Persian family during World War II in Shiraz,Fars,Iran.Zari the main character sees the society and her family life'While struggling with her desire for  traditionalfamily life and her need for an individual identity"
Simin Daneshvar in 1327/1948 married to Jalal al ahmad,one of the major Iranian writers.She was the first president of Iranian Writers Association
