After writing a note on TOP TEN COMPOSERS of NEW YORK TIMES and incorporated it in COMPOSERS CORNER of 5/20/2009,now I like to see readers opinion on omissions:
4.HAYDN is father of string quartet and symphonies
5.SHOSTAKOVICH
6.TCHAIKOWSKY with symphonies and piano concerti
7.CHOPIN
8.SCHUMANN
9.DVORAK,as ethnomusicologist omited in favor of BARTOK and his folk music
+DUKE ELLINGTON,also mentioned by one ,as omission.And
As mentioned,no list without MAHLER,is valid!
