 ALBERTO GIACOMETTI,Swiss Sculptor and Painter
b. 10 october 1901,Forgonovo,Stampa,Switzerland,near Italy
d. 11 January 1966,Chur,Graubunden,Switzerland
Giacometti refused to follow external forms. He did not believe in abstraction, but a picassoesque emotional reaction always attracted him.
 The secluded artist once said:
I paint and sculp to get a grip of reality.
...But to the form in his reality,Giacometti went on to say:
The form is always a proportion to the obcession.
Alberto Giacometti is from an artist family, and his father,Giovanni Cometti
as a neo-impressionist/post impressionist influnced him on his paintings
Here you see some of Alberto Giacometti's oeuvres,as a sculptor and painter,to see his world and how he looked and discover it..
The Walking Man II,on top,is never mistaken with any other artist's work. ,It is  shown in National Gallery on permanent display and is the gift of A.Haupt
And this one is A.Haupt's Chariot plate to show love and admiration  for the unconventional swiss artist,
who passed the world this day in 1966 at age 64.

HENRY MOORE GOES TO WASHINGTON*

You rush in
and pull out
with no prevention
in your idee fixe.
You're on loan.
You arrive
without arrival.
You're hiding
in dull shadows
of a bronze kiss
and you leave
in abscence.
How many times
huh?!
how
many
times
of you
of you of you,
In the in and out
of Washington,
in
and
out?!
and still wandering in angst.

*HENRY MOORE,THE BRITISH SCULPTOR
b.July 30,1898,Castleford,Yorkshire,England
d. 31 August 1986
See More of Moore:
my essay in farsi/persian,
Simorgh of Los Angeles,on the occasion of his retrospective in NGA
Moore believed in "direct carving and truth to materials"His direct experiences with war, made a war artist out of him ,drawing suffering of dismembered humankind ,in an unhealed  deep pain by humankind.
Henry Moore, like any other pure artist, was always wondering that who invented war,and who is going to stop this bloodshed ,someday in history.Family, maternity, women  and children ,and love were other subject occupations of his mind and  took him with his art, back to primitive era  of the man's life  in history, and provided tools for his artistic expressions.

LOUISE BOURGEOIS,1911-2010

LOUIA BOURGEOIS,
b.12/25,1911,Paris
d.5/31,2010,New York City
She came to visit us in Hirshhorn and Corcoran of Washington,D.C. ,and Baltimore,Then left behind her cell(=cage), and one of her spiders in NGA Sculpture Garden.A feminist with modern mind and memory matters, linked together. She thought of marriage and motherhood, and psychosexual subjects ,such as depression, mood and a sense of loss,.Her spiders are coming from a mother who was a weaver too.It could be a structure ultimately establishing in the "Cell" series, also known as "Cage" ,like the image above.
Louis Bourgeois, the Parisienne, came to New York in 1938 after her marriage to an American,to persue her carrier in sculpture and art for more than seventy yearsThese pieces,at time are rough."They deny,or rather ignore, the romance of materials and refuse the histrionics of technique." They are comfortably simple, still complicated in its interiority to the degree of abstraction and abstract art.
Is this a confessional art,as we encounter very often in poetry, especially in women with traumatized childhood ,and life in general, and or sexual experiences?A sylvia plath of art? Her sculptures bring about tense moments in calm ambience,in their forms and relationship to each others. They are awesome and still relaxed. They are holding back their tears and meditate.
Louis bourgeois who died yesterday at age 98 ,once said:
"I don't need to be boosted by history.
I have made history in spite of myself.
I am just another stone in the wall."
