EDOUARD MANET(1832-30 APRIL 1883)

Manet's le dejeuner sur l'herbe with Picasso's superb reproduction;spanish singer/spanish guitar player

Charles Baudler once advised Manet the revolutionary bourgeois,to draw modern life in his paintings, and that was what  he did, and got caught by public opinion in bias.Public unexpectedly found itself in front of Manet,s Olympia, staring at her while lying on the bed, exposed and nakedThis was against all established rules and moral code.Manet was taught  Rafaelite works and took it to be spoken off through modernism.

He was a pioneer of modernism,,and was inspired by Goya   and Velasquez, that"painter of painters",as well as Titian and Giorgione .They were often classicals who influenced Manet,to find his way towards modern dictum.although the name of Courbet (1819-1877)also rings a bell.
In his latter works,Manet ,the rebellious, returned to 1860's when he could not enter Salon, was not in the mood to compete with impressionists, and had exibited his works only in Salon des Refuses.
But the sensual and sesational dejeuner and olympia were his originals, with his personal signature underneath.
