I feel for Wshington Post and her editors who are behind for at least 1411 years by one acount in their faux report, titled: ancient winemaking operation unearthed,in their jan 11,2011 issue..They should look at NYT 2006 to learn that more than 7000 years ago  in 5400 BC,or even 7300 years ago , wine was prepared in Firuz Hills of Azarbayejan, in Persian Empire, south of present Urumieh,if not ignoring Godin Tepeh of Zagros Mountain in 3100-2900 Bc;but  find in university of PA report ,of 5400-500 BC for starting date of wine making.
I also noticed Ardeshian of UCLA needs a refreshing course of history as well as geography to learn that Armenia or Armanestan  was one of the Stans , a part of Persian Empire at that time, and his beloved cave in Areni, in Northern Zagros, was a part of that vast civilization.
It is nice to discover caves, then unearth  and identify kits and tools of wine fermentation, among others, but it is nicer to go back to the books and references to sell the correct informations, and remeember the college course on cultures and civilizations.
Then of course comes the claim of Shiraz, whose grape seeds have been taken to France,Spain,Italy and the other places ,and their wine and wine product  been named by the region,Until lately that Australia renammed them accordingly as SHIRAZ,now overwhelming the world.
Thank you media and academia!
