After Emad Ram,Marzieh is gone too. After Delkash,Pouran,Elaheh,Mohamad nouri,a generation of Iranians,in exile or at home ,lost another voice.she's gone and left a thousand songs behind with great nostalgia.I always whispered her song:
BEH ZAMANI KEH MOHABBAT SHODEH AFSANEH/in a time that love becomes legend
This was a popular song that we performed with our school orchestra,in Hadaf High School of Tehran,in 1336/1957, with our singer Farhad Savad kuhi.
This performance was done in front of a big audience, who included Dr.Mehran, the minister of education.
Afterward we recieved an honorable prize from Dr.Ahmad Birashk, the Hadaf Chancellor. This song is with me even when the singer  is now silent
Marzieh ,who was banned  from singing  for 15 years, once said:
"WHAT WOULD A NIGHTINGALE DO IF YOU PUT HER IN A CAGE?
SHE WOULD DIE IN TWENTY FOUR HOURS."
Marzieh like our other pop or classical singers was a lover:
"I SING MOSTLY LOVE SONGS...LOVE IS INCARCERATED AND KILLED IN IRAN."
Miss you!

  1. Perhaps the last of the old greats has now passed on to eternity. From the old glories, who else can you name out there, who has not yet been visited by the Angel of Death.
The old fertile land has now turned into a desert which has lost all its great landmarks, one by one, and for good.
The dust and the dirt live on, but the cream of the crop leave on. The best of the bests, the darlings of the rest have all but left us one by one during the past 40 or so years.
I wonder whether at our corner of this now very dreary world, there will come yet another time and an era when the world would again be able to see such a unique cluster gathering of the likes of these greats whom we have lost, so regrettably, in the past half century.
