EZRA POUND,THE MOST MODERN OF MODERNS-1

TREES DIE AND DREAM REMAINS
NOT LOVE BUT THAT LOVE FLOWS FROM IT
EX AMINO
AND CANNOT ERGO DELIGHT IN ITSELF
BUT ONLY IN THE LOVE FLOWING FROM IT
from:CANTOS

Self vs.Mask in Persona is searched. This is the book of Pound's collected poems, other than The Cantos,as his modern odyssey, while the title is taken from Dante's Divine Comedy.
Ezra Pound spent part of his incredible energy, in other languages and literatures ,as Japaneses and Chinese Poetry, and like Haiku. This so called CULTURE POET also editted the works of other poets and writers, such as T.S.ELIOT,JAMES JOYCE,ROBERT FROST.He continued his dialogue with Dr,William Carlos Williams and influenced the creativity of next generation,as well as  publishers.
We always wonder if in any other culture and language,a poet and writer reached to this level of creativity and embraced other's works with an open mind and authentic modern vision.

SISLEY SAILED IN AND AWAY

alfred sisley,a french-english  impressionist landscapist paysagist
b.oct 30,1839
d.29 january 1899
Alfred Sisley sailed his soul
in and out and away.
He roared in rainbow
river and the road
to reflect
the routes of our life.
A national of Britany
he was born in Paris,France
He died in
Moret-Sur_loing,in France.
Not only on his canvas
but over most of his life.
France was his home
but not the islands
next door and in
neighborhood.
His landscape,as an impressionist
expanded
every year.
He Renoired.
He Monet-ed.
Then he reached
the unreachable
in a poetical language with
its words and syntax.
Salon was too small scale space for
his style
and so was the world.
He sang
but he was not
a singer
and he died with throat cancer.
Don't we all do
due to being mute
all our life?

THE NEAREST SITE IN THE SOUND OF SILENCE

collage by: moj

Wind in the wing
wave crested sound
feeling butterfly
butterfly winging
in the wind.
I glue you
to blue
to compose water,waterfall
or whatever.
Then
a collage of wing
and wind.
Diversity
O my beautiful little butterfly
defined in assembling
a fragment of silence
to the soaring sound
when I spread you on a canvas
to be spreaded
sound
in silence.
when I spread on you
singing
wind
in the wing
wave crested sound
feeling butterfly

NIGHT IN MARINA

It is a marina feeling
going and going
when little bells
ringing loud
in lonely landing alleys
of fog

No one goes high up
to fall hard in here

Red pine trees comig from sunset.
Deers and men
hidden in the wet reed bush.
Lonely boats
and waves in red and white
turning white and red
with the night.
Shadows of flags in the wind
sound like windpipe.
Old boardwalk squicky in fear
Sound of golfers carts
in Copiem sound.
Enduring nature
away from decadence.
Captain sitting
behind the window
sipping slowly of night
in marina.
No one goes too high up
to fall hard in here.
Seal at the sea
with spanish moss.
We have breakfast with marina
every morning
before night falls
in marina.
It is a marina feeling.
Marina's
feeling

LOS 33 CHILEANOS

LOS 33 CHILEANOS
DE FENIX
Entombed for weeks
under the dusts of
atacama desert
hit death hard
in its house.
They had a rendez-vous
with sky
and sun.
They were grounded
to write their
underground poems.
They left death
grounded .
And left in joy for
jubilo de vivir.
Death was waiting wicked.
They were not.
VIVA LOS 33 CHILEANOS
DE FENIX!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY FRIEDRICH MICHEL WILHELM NIETZSCHE FOUCAULT

friedrich wilhelm nietsche and his follower par excellence, michel foucault ,celebrating thier birthday in common on october 15,one born in 1844 ,in lutz, germany and the other 1926 in poitier, france.
They both had a great influence in the grand canyon of thoughts and ideas, and formed the acropolis of philosophy in twentieth century europe, the world,,and beyond.
Once Foucault said:
DO NOT ASK WHO I AM AND DO NOT ASK ME TO REMAIN THE SAME
And years before that Nietzsce answered through Zoroasthra's mouth,in one of his(?) poems:
THE WORLD IS DEEP
DEEPER THAN DAY HAVE BEEN AWARE
DEEPER IS ITS WOE:
JOY,DEEPER THAN AGONY
WOE IMPLORES:GO!
BUT ALL JOY WILLS ETERNITY
WILLS DEEP
WILLS DEEP ETERNITY
We are celebrating their birth by celebrating thoughts and mind
HAPPY BIRTHDAY.
FRIEDRICH MICHEL WILHELM NIETZSCHE FOUCAULT!

MARZIEH (1303-1389/1924-2010)

MARZIEH,Ashraf Sadat Mortezai
b,Tehran 1303/1924
d.21 mehr 1389/oct 13,2010,Paris,France
After Emad Ram,Marzieh is gone too. After Delkash,Pouran,Elaheh,Mohamad nouri,a generation of Iranians,in exile or at home ,lost another voice.she's gone and left a thousand songs behind with great nostalgia.I always whispered her song:
BEH ZAMANI KEH MOHABBAT SHODEH AFSANEH/in a time that love becomes legend
This was a popular song that we performed with our school orchestra,in Hadaf High School of Tehran,in 1336/1957, with our singer Farhad Savad kuhi.
This performance was done in front of a big audience, who included Dr.Mehran, the minister of education.
Afterward we recieved an honorable prize from Dr.Ahmad Birashk, the Hadaf Chancellor. This song is with me even when the singer  is now silent
Marzieh ,who was banned  from singing  for 15 years, once said:
"WHAT WOULD A NIGHTINGALE DO IF YOU PUT HER IN A CAGE?
SHE WOULD DIE IN TWENTY FOUR HOURS."
Marzieh like our other pop or classical singers was a lover:
"I SING MOSTLY LOVE SONGS...LOVE IS INCARCERATED AND KILLED IN IRAN."
Miss you!

I VIRGINIA BEACH WITH WAVES

WITH WAVE WE REVEL
IN ERA
AND AREA OF AUSTERITY

She is playful
and she knows well
she is happy.
It'll all take a wave
to play a wave
in Virginia Beach.

10  10  10

I VIRGINIA BEACH-finale

A big water lilly
on a sleepy shore.
A fruity fossil
walking with us
through ancient forest
to introduce flora and fauna of soul.
I whisper in her ears
you
and I
we are da fossils.
It sounds a bold prophecy.
So attractive
like bijou of forever.
It is a museum of wave.
I take tidal wave for
tsunami and leave hurricane
then see
the wonderwave is the third wave
on a big water lily
of sleepy shore.

I VIRGINIA BEACH-text in blue context

.....for Tristan &Skylar

*LOGGING WAVES IN A JOURNEY

I pass through smoke and silk
the smell of fast foods and Hampton Road
I 95 south
I beltway in Richmond with Edgar Allen Poe
I swim in James River with Captain Cook
of 400 years old
_now retired_
I cruise with mermaids
on Elizabeth River of Norfolk
I Vrginia Beach
with beach breeze
on the boardwalk.
Sun is red or
orange and then
silver,so melted and dazzling
you won't be able
to see or you stare at
forever.
On a creative walk with you
I feel octapus.
I do not know where
I am going
I do not know
where I am coming from.
I am an incidental traveller
of black destiny
who dreams the fellow travellers
I never met
and do not know
where they coming from
and where
they going.
*
With pines and poplars
river otters and sea horses
in the early morning,
a shool of dolphins put on a show
in front of veranda.
I aquarium today with aquamarines and algae.
I atlantic avenue
I pacific avenue
I cross marina of aquamerica
(not to be confused with Caribbean)
We are sunfish and sturgeon
with and without our caviars.
We crystallize
from molten rock
to quartz prism
chasing turtles and cardinals
burrying eggs
in the sand
with turtles
in canyon of ocean
BARRACUDA!
Where barra
meets cuda
meet the meats
signed and sealed.
Imagine if the guys are free
BARRRRRA
CUDDDDA!!
Now we are decorated
by feathers and wings
to fly our painted body
with the native indians
in a sorrowful melody of flute.
Are these icons or
they are just we?
*
I wrote in my spiral notebook#52
BUTTERFLIES
IN FOREST CANOPY
SHELTER OF LOVE
LOVER WAVES
FLUTTER FOR CHANGE
A philosopher blue crane in the marsh
answered back with lines of Aristole:
IN ALL THINGS OF
NATURE
THERE IS
SOMETHING
OF THE
MARVELLOUS
*
I get off
the everyday road
to get off
the everyday road
then I discover myself.
It is a selfless self
other than voiding
self centers who are blinds at the mirrors
and the walls.
It is a self self
selling out on sale
their selfish soul.
*
Grey dolphins and silver metals
birds bringing
the lost sun
back to the sea.
I catch the sun
out of the waves and
invite her to breakfast.
A lonely glass of orange juice
for her and
one for me.
Cheers for warmth.!
Cheers to love!
Waves splash in water
I virginia beach
by turning off cell phone
and closing laptop.
I delete all damges
and throw away all decoys.
No newspapers even if free.
Is anything free around here?!
Waves and the sea
sing naturally.
Sands and seagulls
fly in freedom.
Autumn sun
is so real
it looks like the sun.
We walk and bike
we trolley and
run.
We conquer delicious boardwalk
from jetty
to fishing pier
passing the boardwalk clock tower
to green revolution
of evergreens
on the cavalier border.
Angrey Neptune
just came out of water
goes grounded
holding tight on turtle and fish.
To walk around together
Away from everyday routine
I Virginia Beach
You Virginia Beach
We Virginia Beach.
